Rep. Pope seeks reelection to the S.C. House

State Rep. Tommy Pope is seeking a second term to represent District 47 which covers the York, Clover and Lake Wylie areas of York County. Pope is completing his first term. He defeated Rep. Herb Kirsh in November 2010 election.

“Now that I have had the opportunity to serve, I have gained an additional appreciation for Rep. Kirsh’s previous work and his tireless commitment to our area,” Pope said.

Pope has served as a member of the medical, military, public and municipal affairs, and the Republican Caucus tax committees. He also serves as a Republican majority whip in the House. He received the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce’s Business Advocate Award for his votes on business issues. The American Legion of South Carolina named him its 2012 Legislator of the Year.

Pope is a managing partner with Elrod Pope Law Firm in Rock Hill and Lake Wylie.
